Christmas & Quebec City

Happy new year! Here’s a {long} photo diary with the many pictures of our Christmas (hosted our very first!) and Quebec City trip afterwards.

With our sweet niece Isabelle in our matching red dresses on Christmas Eve! And a 22 week baby bump.

3 layer gingerbread cake – recipe here. It was incredible and I am so grateful for all of the sweet compliments this cake received after spending so much time baking it. My first naked cake and it came out so pretty.

What Christmas morning really looked like… so fashionable, I know.

When we arrived in Quebec the day after Christmas, it was warm and there was no snow at all. That sure changed super quick! The skiers were very happy.

We visited Old Quebec and enjoyed walking the Petit Champlain neighborhood, which was even more darling in person. Photos can’t do it justice.

I chose that restaurant after spotting their table settings through the window… ended up being our favorite meal! And honestly – those napkins and that china are so amazing. It’s also the oldest house in Quebec and we loved having a date a night in such a charming location.

The last day we visited Montmorency Falls and the marche, where I proceeded to eat my weight in donuts.

And last but not least is Sainte Anne. Since I couldn’t go skiing this year, I wanted to take full advantage of the sightseeing around this adorable little town.

We also stopped by the aquarium and saw seals, walruses and polar bears absolutely loving the blizzard we were getting. We weren’t really dressed for an outdoor tour but couldn’t pass up seeing them up close.

We rang in the new year with a slice of chocolate cake in our hotel room and falling asleep wayyy before the ball dropped.

I’m so thankful for this holiday season and all that 2016 might bring us. Cheers to you if you got through this whole post! :)
