December 11th – 20 weeks!
I can’t believe I am halfway through this pregnancy – we find out if this little nugget is a boy or a girl today and my stomach is in knots, I’m just so nervous! We will also be so grateful to hopefully see a healthy baby growing in there. A prayer for this baby’s health is always in my heart.
19 weeks / 20 weeks
December 16th – doctor appointment
While I don’t see myself posting these regularly, I thought a halfway update might be good for memory’s sake. Especially now that I’ve had my ultrasound and was given confirmation that all is well in there with the bébé.
How far along: 20 weeks and a couple days
Total weight gain: 7 pounds
Stretch marks: nope!
Maternity clothes: A couple of maternity tops from Walmart + a hair tie through my jeans is what I’m working with right now. I bought a pair of leggings but the belly panel is still a little too big so I roll it down.
Belly button: Still in but growing wider by the day! Steph says I’m obsessed with belly buttons… not true he just has a huge one (which is fascinating to me) and mine is getting bigger so it’s impossible not to be intrigued by it!
Sleep: I wake up every few hours, tossing and turning and having to pee at least once.
Movement: I feel kicks and rolls mostly at night, which makes me just want to lay on the couch as soon as I get home so I can feel them! The coolest thing about being pregnant, for sure.
Cravings: Cinnamon anything (FRENCH TOAST). Sweets. Poutine. But I eat a pretty boring diet otherwise due to having such a sensitive stomach these days. Cereal, toast, plain salads (olive oil smells absolutely disgusting to me right now), turkey, avocado and cheese paninis, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, plain pasta.
Looking forward to: More baby kicks! :)
Gender: We went to our ultrasound and the tech second-guessed herself two seconds after telling us so I’m a little nervous about whether or not she got it right! But either way, we couldn’t be happier and based on the technician’s guess… I already picked up a few adorable things:) But I think I get a pat on the back for holding out 20 weeks without shopping! Baby clothes are seriously irresistible.
