This is how I’m feeling today:
BRR! (I look miserable. Totally not the point of this post! Hah.) I’m not sure if I’ll ever get used to these temperatures… but I’m trying. And it’s just so pretty when it snows – give me snow over rain any day!
So I’ve been feeling prompted to choose a word for 2015, which I’ve seen a few others doing on their blogs and Instagrams. From the moment I noticed this, I was inspired to do the same since there is already a word that I focus on a lot in prayer and in my day to day in general, especially if I find myself grumpy or ungracious.
I’ve been blessed to have people in my life that are such a light for their families and friends. You know what I mean? That always smiling, forever optimistic, completely genuine kind of person that really uplifts everyone around them with their spirit… with their light. With their glow.
GLOW(glō): to shine brightly and steadily
This also goes for the lovely ladies I may not know in real life, but follow along as they share their journey through the internets. There are SO many amazing women who might not even realize it, but by letting their own light shine, it gives others the confidence to do the same (myself included).
A few months ago I attended my church’s stake Women’s Day and just fell in love with the entire theme of the event. At one point they handed out little tea candles with this printable attached, which I have since taped to my planner so I can see it constantly. It brings me such peace and joy to read it.
“Each time you choose to try to live more like the Savior… you will come in time to know for yourself that He is the Light of the World. You will reflect to others the Light of Christ in your life.”
I know this to be true. I have been blessed by the light of others. And I pray that if we can try to live by Christ’s example, we can be that happy, radiant GLOW for someone else.
To me, GLOW is an action word that I have to put into practice each and every day. And of course I fail at that each and every day in some kind of way but choosing the word “glow”for 2015 is my perfect reminder.
My perfect reminder to be more kind. To love more. To be more forgiving. To be less judgmental. To listen better. To be more calm. To be more like Christ.
Thank you so, so much to everyone who has shared their glow with me! :)
